Reverse Mortgage & Living Trusts

Lending institutions are now allowing you to attain a Reverse Mortgage AND keep the residence in the name of your Living Trust. House Photo
This is a huge change and allows you to maintain your goal of avoiding probate on all of your assets. However, there is a catch. The lending institution requires you to amend your Trust to add specific protection wording.

First Time = Haven’t Owned in Past 3 Years

Just a quickie post to share the news I heard today – even though you’ve only got a couple weeks to be in escrow to qualify.

This “first time home buyer” is a bit of a misnomer. You actually qualify if you HAVE NOT OWNED in the past 3 years. Thought that this might be new info for some of you ~ it sure was for me!
